We live in the times of smartphones and tablets.  We love touch-control; widgets and gadgets are a necessity.  The popularity of the touch technology makes, in my opinion, the dedicated HMI panels obsolete.  Expansion of html5, the popularity of opensource technologies open an ocean of new programming possibilities. 

Starting with simple scripts, writing programs form myself and readers of this site (many thanks to Jan), I have put together a jQuery plugin, which simplifies the communication with a WAGO PLC controller.  If you like visualizations, animations, gadgets, counters and gauges, which you can find on different www pages – that’s great.  Now in a few steps, with a basic knowledge of html and javascript, you can turn them into a house-controlling visualization.
